Just took an hour off of work to swap on my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! before it got too hot out. I am pleased with the improvement over the base steel wheels, and thrilled at what I got for the price. I am less pleased with the weather, because the car seriously needs a bath. I am getting it aligned and hopefully washed on Friday so I can see if there is any difference in handling over the weekend.

Also, whoever last put the wheels on is a jerk. They were torqued so tight that my air impact driver couldn’t loosen them. Had to break out the tire iron and jump up and down on it to get them loose.

Finally any recommendations for lug nuts that better match the finish on the wheels?

I’m not sure how I feel about plastidipping whole wheels, but a little on those lugnuts would cost pennies, and make them black to blend in better.

or perhaps just scuff them with sandpaper to dull them down a little. Make them less chrome, more flat like the metal on the wheel.

I like that blacked out look on the lug nuts, thanks! I think they need to be black. I actually have a can of black plastidip that I bought and never used, so I’ll try that. But I like the current paint/machined finish on the wheels and will probably leave that alone.

Thanks! I may try just plati-dipping them black first. But splines for $54 is pretty good!

Owners manual actually says 90 lbs. now. There was a long discussion over on either NSIOC or subaruoutback.org about why it has crept up over the years... general consensus was liability. These still felt like over 100.

Those are nice and the price is right. Someone (boxer4 maybe) posted a few months ago a picture of a Foz with those rims that had either black paint or dip in the channels down the centers of the spokes and it looked great.

I suspect if you make a paper cone, and throw it around the lug nuts whilst on the car you could plastidip them without impact to anything surrounding.

not sure plastidip would hold up to being torqued, so I assume you’d have to do it on the car.

Those come standard (minus the black paint) on the top non-XT trim. They’re seriously awesome looking. And unique, because I rarely see a non-XT Forester with the same wheels as mine.

Touring, right? I think I’ve only seen one or two on the road. I actually came across those wheels wihout the black on eBay and had to look it up to make sure it was a real Subaru OEM thing.

Yeah. Touring. Their trim levels are weird. It’s like Base - Premium - Limited - Touring, and I’m thinking “all those mean the same thing...” I love the car though. Zero regrets.

Those are nice wheels. They can also be found on 09-10 Forester 2.5X Premiums and Limiteds.
